Dad,
It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since you went to be with the Lord. It seems like yesterday that I had the honor of sitting by your side and giving you a shave; a moment I will treasure all the days of my life. I think you often dad and see you in the things I do that you taught me. I see you in the tools I use that were once yours. I see you in the wonderful things in our homes that you skillfully and lovingly built with your hands. When I hear the theme song to the movie “A Summer Place”, I stop what I’m doing and I think of you and mom. I cherish the times we spent together throughout my life and I am grateful that God gave me you as a father. I could not have asked for a better dad and friend.
We’re remembering you today dad. You worked hard all your life to support the ones you loved. You gave us all you could and always did your best expecting nothing in return. Even though you’re gone, your memory is alive and your presence lives on in our hearts and homes. We take you everywhere we go and you will never be forgotten.
Thank you dad, thank you for everything. Happy trails…
