It's hard for me to think of Monte Massett as my "father-in-law" because knowing him blessed me more like he was my real Dad. He was kind, generous, thoughtful, loving, hard-working, humble, and with a quiet but firm faith in God. He was quick to smile, quick to laugh and could always be counted on to share a wonderful story from his Air Force days and lend a helping hand in the present. I remember Dad saying to me during his brief hospital stay prior to his hospice care: "I just want to get better so I can be helpful again." I think that statement well defines who Monte Massett was, how deeply he cared for others and why he will always will be so loved by all those whose lives he touched. You are better now, Dad, and I know Jesus enjoying your help in His Kingdom just as He enjoyed your helpfulness on earth. For me to call Monte Massett "Dad" was something that came from my heart and so that's where I'll hold him until we meet again. Dad, you used to like to say "see you soon" instead of "goodbye" and you're so right - "It's Not Goodbye, It's See you Later." Love you always and always your son, Christopher
